The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) has unveiled its new logo, “The Engine of Growth,” at the Mandalika Festival of Speed 2024 Final Round, marking a significant step towards empowering Indonesia’s creative industry.
Alongside the logo unveiling, three local Intellectual Properties (IPs) were also officially launched: Indonesia Legends, Web3 Racing Legends (W3RL), and Indonesia Game Week. These initiatives represent the perfect fusion of gaming, creativity, technology, and sports, opening doors to new opportunities for Indonesia’s talent to shine on the world stage.
Indonesia Legends: From Gamer to Racer
As part of the Indonesia Legends initiative, Radical Academy 2024 has successfully turned the dreams of many gamers into reality. Inspired by the GT Academy concept, the From Virtual Racing to Real Track program attracted over 1,500 participants from across Indonesia.
The top three winners were given the incredible opportunity to race the Radical SR1 XXR cars, with Damario and Razzan now competing in the Radical Time Attack at the Mandalika Festival of Speed (MFOS). Their journey symbolizes the powerful transition from virtual racing to real-world motorsports, showcasing the limitless potential of the gaming to racing pipeline.
Web3 Racing Legends: A Global Gateway for Indonesia Legends
Web3 Racing Legends (W3RL) is an innovative racing platform that integrates Web3 technology, offering both virtual and real-world racing events. With a planned launch starting in 2025, W3RL will serve as the gateway for international racers to connect with the Indonesia Legends ecosystem, creating stronger synergies between local and global motorsports communities.
The platform aims to bridge the gap between traditional racing and the exciting world of Web3, creating a unique experience for fans and racers alike.
Indonesia Game Week: A Platform for Local Game Developers
Indonesia Game Week is an exciting initiative set to launch next year, aiming to bring together Indonesia’s game developers and the ever-growing gaming community.
With over 170 million gamers and a market potential worth over IDR 30 trillion, Indonesia Game Week will be a strategic platform to nurture local developers, encourage creativity, and showcase Indonesia’s growing gaming industry.
The goal is to provide local talent with the tools and visibility they need to contribute to the growth of the national creative economy.
Collaborating for a Stronger Future in Racing and Gaming
With support from organizations like MGPA, Max Motorsport, Radical Motorsport Indonesia, and Sekuya Racing, initiatives such as Indonesia Legends, W3RL, and Indonesia Game Week are setting the stage for a new era of innovation in both gaming and motorsports in Indonesia.
Programs like Radical Academy prove that the combination of technology, creativity, and cross-sector collaboration can achieve tangible success, propelling local talent onto the global stage.
Irene Umar, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, expressed her excitement about the launch,
“Indonesia has tremendous potential in both the racing and gaming industries. Indonesia Legends, W3RL, and Indonesia Game Week are tangible steps toward integrating gaming, creativity, technology, and sports to create new opportunities. We hope that W3RL will be an effective bridge between the global racing community and Indonesia Legends, with the first race planned for 2025. Collaborations like these will pave the way for even more innovation in the future.”
